Everfull

Gardner Design, 2024
Everfull is a Meals on Wheels affiliate that empowers elderly Kansans to live well. The charity provides on-site and home-delivered meals while connecting seniors to their community and striving to nourish its aging population nutritionally, spiritually, and socially. At Gardner Design, I was responsible for the nonprofit’s renaming, logo redesign, and overall brand refresh from its previous identity, Aging Projects Inc. Everfull’s new brand exudes the warmth and spirit that sustain its volunteers and the seniors they nurture.

The cornucopia has long endured as a symbol of abundance.
While brainstorming phrases to support the brand refresh, the term “nourish” frequently resurfaced. The expression can refer to nutrition, but further, nourishment of the soul through the social connection and sense of community brought to seniors by Everfull’s volunteers and in-person programming. Amidst my research, one quote stuck out, describing the historical significance of the cornucopia as a symbol of “unending nourishment.” The icon effectively communicates a “forever full” bounty, overflowing from the storied horn of plenty. Additional meaning can be found in how the cornucopia is rendered, closely suggesting a lowercase letter “e” for Everfull. The bounty of wheat spilling forth celebrates the midwestern region the nonprofit serves.
Logo Exploration Finalists
“Tyler—I want to commend you on these designs. I've been in marketing and brand work for a little over a decade now. I was very serious when I said that any of these designs I would be happy to adopt as our visual identity... because all of them, each one, were great. There wasn't one which wouldn't have worked for us. Due to the quality you put forward, we will end up with not just a great visual identity, but an outstanding one... one that will set us apart from the crowd.”
Executive Director, Everfull
The client—previously known as Aging Projects Inc.—was concerned that its old name didn't accurately communicate the venture’s mission. The board approached Gardner Design to develop concepts that reflected the goals and personality of their nonprofit. Under the direction of Bill Gardner, I was the lead creative tasked with developing refreshed nomenclature. The following is a condensed summary of the exploration we conducted.
Kindred Corps
As a noun, “kindred” refers to one’s relatives, acknowledging the delivery drivers and staff who become surrogate families to the elderly they serve. As an adjective, it refers to a group that shares the same mission or beliefs, making the name a rallying cry for those who dedicate their time to the cause.
Heartspitality
A blend of the words “heart” or “heartland” and “hospitality,” this direction speaks to the people and midwest region served by the organization, highlighting the sense of community and care fostered by employees and volunteers.
Savorhood
A portmanteau of “savor” and “neighborhood.” The word “savor” is often used in the context of enjoying good food, while this application encourages the elderly to savor their golden years more broadly. The suffix “hood,” derived from “neighborhood,” underscores the sense of community forged between staff and the seniors they serve in their community.
PrairieShare
The word “prairie” communicates the midwestern values, work ethic, and hospitality that drive the organization. The suffix “share” celebrates the generosity of volunteers and donors, communicating the warmth and engagement reciprocated by the elderly they serve.
Bountifill
A portmanteau of “bounty” and “fulfill.” “Bounty” refers to a gift or harvest, perhaps spilling out of a cornucopia. “Fulfill” overtly refers to the act of delivery, as well as the idea that the organization—both socially and nutritionally—fills a gap in the lives of seniors.
Honorwell
This direction speaks to the core ideology that moves those who volunteer at this charitable venture—a desire to honor the elderly in our communities by providing nourishment and companionship to those in need.
Kindred Keepers
As a noun, “kindred” refers to one’s relatives, acknowledging the delivery drivers and staff who become surrogate families to the elderly they serve. As an adjective, it refers to a group that shares the same mission or beliefs, making the name a rallying cry for those who dedicate their time to the cause.
Bounty Share
“Bounty” refers to a gift or harvest, perhaps spilling out of a cornucopia. The suffix “share” celebrates the generosity of volunteers and donors, communicating the warmth and engagement reciprocated by the elderly they serve.
Gathermore
In this context, “gather” refers to aggregating food and resources to support the community. The prefix also champions the social opportunities fostered by the organization, unifying seniors at congregate friendship meals and their front door on food delivery days.
Nourishright
In this context, “nourish” highlights sustaining the elderly via nutrition while nurturing the soul through social interaction and inclusion within the senior community.
Fullove
Full of Love—that statement encapsulates the motivation behind each soul that dedicates their time to the organization. Sounding phonetically similar to “Full of,” messaging could be built around that hook (e.g. Fullove Hope; Fullove Potential; etc.)
Everfull
This direction implies that no matter what the future holds, the organization will forever ensure that the communities they serve have both a full stomach and a full heart. This name was unanimously selected by the board.
